Deborah Schanz LMU Munich

Deborah Schanz is Professor of Taxation and Accounting at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) of Munich. Her research interests include the influence of taxation on investment and financing decision-making, tax accounting and international taxation. She is member of the executive committee of the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB). In addition, she is head of the working group “taxes” of the Schmalenbach- Gesellschaft and member of arqus, working group quantitative business taxation. Her work is published in leading refereed and professional journals such as the Contemporary Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, Review of Managerial Science and the German Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung (ZfbF).

Thorsten Sellhorn LMU Munich

Thorsten Sellhorn is Director of the Institute for Accounting, Auditing and Analysis at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) of Munich. His research interests include International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the role of accounting information in capital markets as well as accounting quality and earnings management. His research is published in leading international journals like Management Science, The Accounting Review, European Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies and Abacus. He is a co-author of a leading German textbook on international accounting, Internationale Rechnungslegung, and is president (2019-2021) of the European Accounting Association (EAA).

Nina Schwaiger LMU Munich

Nina Schwaiger is Assistant Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) of Munich. Her research focus is on the role of formal and informal controls in explaining firm behavior. Her current work concentrates on management control in hierarchies and the role of sustainability. Her work has been published in the Journal of Business Economics and Accounting and Business Research.
